POCDATARA (The Protection of Constitutional Democracy Against Terrorism and Related Activities) Act 2004.
The Protection of Constitutional Democracy Against Terrorist and Related Activities Act (POCDATARA) criminalizes acts of terrorism, as well as the financing of terrorism, and sets out specific obligations related to international cooperation.
The anti-money laundering measures have been broadened because of money laundering by terrorist organisations. In South Africa this led to the 2004 POCADATARA Act. In section 28A of FICA it requires the reporting of any offence linked to terrorist activities, including terrorist financing.
